Tonight Bretton Woods will perform, for the very first tim in public, a brand new christmas hymn. The song is a classic christmas story involving snow, a christmas tree and guns. For the very first time, the cowboys of Bretton Woods will be performing in a church, but will they take off their hats?

In an in-depth analysis of the concept of developing country as a musical genre, banjo player Erlend Seilskjær, explains why this music has yet to see a commercial and artistic breakthrough:

- We aim at both hillbillies and intellectuals, but it’s hard to find venues and settings were both groups meet in search for common musical entartainment. The traditional country-loving audience do not share our values and on the other side the academics don’t like country music. This, of course, creates a huge barrier on our way to success.

WANTED: Dead or live?

No, we are not dead – yet. But we are playing live developing country at Gamla Tuesday 16th of June!

We sure have been gone for a while, but, hey, we’ve been busy writing new songs for you all. And we have to admit that all though good governance is the buzzword in development nowadays, we sure don’t comply with such standards. The band is truly a administrative train wreck and this gig is truly a miracle. But despite bad management and few public appearances, the band has been enjoying a creative flow the last year and several new songs on burning issues will be performed!

So giddy up and get your hat and head to Gamla Tuesday 16th of June! Doors open at 20.00!

The EP will be available from this website in a few days as a physical CD (price: approx. NOK 50.00) and as a digital download (price: donation).

Bretton Woods har vært i studio og laget EP-en «I Wanna Work for an NGO». Det feirer vi ved å invitere til countrykonsert med paneldebatt!

Nå har du sjansen til å høre Bretton Woods’ låter bli tolket og diskutert av Knut Nærum, komiker; Ingeborg Gjærum, leder i Natur og Ungdom og Erling Borgen, journalist og filmskaper. Debatten ledes av Sindre Tollefsen.

Dørene på MS Innvik er åpne hele dagen, men bandet og debattpanelet går på scenen presis kl. 21.00, så kom i god tid før 21.00. CC: 40 kroner. Og det blir selvsagt mulighet for å kjøpe både CD og buttons!

It is confirmed: Developing country will be performed at Ellings Barn at 19.30 2nd August 2008 at Eikerapen Roots Festival, Åseral, Norway.

The band is looking forward to this great opportunity to spread the knowledge of conflict theory, environmental protection, development policies, gender perspectives and consumer power to country fans that rarely are targeted by information campaigns from Norad.

Guitarist carried out recordings with broken thumb

No sign of pain, claims witness.

Seven medical students descriebed the injuri as a “funny case” as Helge “Iron Fist” Holtermann claimed that he felt no pain during the three day long recording period.

Mr Holtermann says that the injury was caused by a “ski accident”. However rumors from unconfirmd sources claims that the guitarist was involved in a shoot-out in a saloon. The accident makes a strong case for Bretton Woods to make more music about arms control.

Now Bretton Woods guitarist is told to stay calm the next couple of weeks, with his thumb plastered. He is therefore not attending the next two band rehearsals.

Finally we are going to do some real recording of some of our songs. Marius from Bob Haley will help us sound better than we really are at the good lookin’ studio Nye Losjen in Kolbotn. The band is travelling with public transportation from Oslo to Kolbotn this afternoon.
